Reduce Alcohol

Hypnotherapy to help with binge drinking and excessive alcohol

Excessive alcohol and binge drinking can ruin your life. It may have started out as a drink to ‘unwind’ after work or when going to the pub drinking at the weekends. But alcohol can then begin to show up more often than at the weekend or the odd drink after work. You can find yourself ‘self medicating’ with alcohol to feel confident when you go out, or to get over a break up with a partner, or maybe an argument with the boss.

Many people, out of habit often drink alcohol as a way to relax or de-stress. Do you relate with any of the following:

• Drinking getting out of control?
• Too much alcohol consumption?
• Boredom or drinking alcohol after a stressful day?
• Putting on weight from too much drinking?
• Your relationships are being affected by drinking too much alcohol?
• Do you feel compelled to drink alcohol?
• Aggressive or angry when you drink?
• Worried about your long term health?

Alcohol Units can be confusing so the easiest way to understand safe drinking levels is to never go beyond a couple of drinks at one time and to limit your drinking to a maximum of 3-4 days per week. An occasional social drink is the safest way to drink.

Alcohol is the second biggest preventable killer and responsible for 137 hospital admissions every hour; that’s 3288 people a day, more than double cigarette related admissions.

If someone is having difficulty controlling their alcohol drinking this does not mean that they are an alcoholic but rather it’s the persons subconscious mind controlling the habit for them. There are occasions when you’ve decided to reduce the amount of alcohol or stop drinking alcohol. After deciding to make changes to your drinking habit the urge to drink often seems to get worse, this is because it’s your subconscious mind is controlling the habit.

Hypnotherapy treats the underlying emotions and triggers linked to the habit of drinking alcohol, as well as removing or reducing the drinking habit itself. Hypnotherapy can help you to overcome excessive alcohol consumption or binge drinking and to move you forward from the habit.
People around you could try to influence your drinking behaviour, you can’t change them but you can change yourself.

As an antidote to the challenges of everyday life, Crosby Hypnotherapy offers professional hypnotherapy and counselling.
